I always believed that money isn’t the most important thing in life, at least for me. I thought happiness, love, peace, and relationships matter more in life.
But one incident changed my thinking forever.
This happened to my close friend recently. He is 27, living with me in a rented apartment, struggling to make ends meet.
Even though our job paid just enough to cover our expenses, saving money was a dream. But we were happy—or at least until reality hit us hard one day.
Here When All is This Started
It was a rainy evening when my friend received a call from his mother. Her voice was shaky.
“Your father has had a heart attack. We need to admit him immediately.”
Panic gripped us.
We rushed to the hospital. When we reached, we saw her mother standing outside the ICU.
As per the doctor, his father was unconscious.“We need to perform an emergency surgery,” he said. “It will cost ₹4 lakh.”
Four lakh??!!! The sum we didn’t even have in our wildest dreams because we have never made any savings/investment.
I stared at him, speechless. He said – “Doctor, can you please start the treatment? I will arrange the money somehow.”
But the doctor looked at us with pity and said - "You need the deposit first."I can see that my friend ran from one relative to another, calling friends, searching for loans—begging for help.
Some ignored calls, some made excuses, and some simply said, “I wish I could help”It hit me hard and realized —the world moves only when you have money.
No matter how many people say, “I’m there for you,” when the time comes, no one is here especially for monetary help.

Somehow, he managed the amount at the last moment with one of our close friends. But those few hours, when his father’s life depended on money we didn’t have, changed me forever.
That day, I truly understood—money is not just paper. It is power, respect, and sometimes, the difference between life and death.I have a deep request to all of you –
Please keep some savings for your future even if it is $20-30 per month. These small savings get bigger and can do great help to you.
